ABOUT THE PROJECT:
SOBRE O PROJETO

Este ciclo de rodas de Readings and storytelling was part of the Cotidiano Leitor project, conceived by the Dom Miguel Institute with the support of the Secretary of Culture and Communication of the State of Paraná in 2019, with a tax incentive from Renault do Brasil. Its execution was carried out by the reading mediator and storyteller Rodrigo Hayalla and took place in public schools in the municipality of São José dos Pinhais in Paraná.

_cc781905-5cde-3194 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_ In the repertoire of texts for actions to encourage reading, we find characters who fight against prejudice and differences in social treatment for physical, age, psychological, racial, sexual reasons, etc. violence and exclusion, established at various levels. The texts are Brazilian and of various genres, the selection includes age profiles from 06 to 12 years old for storytelling and above 13 years old for reading circles.

_cc781905-5cde-3194 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_ At all times the differences between men are present, showing and demonstrating that there are human groups endowed with specificities. People are indeed different in terms of skin and eye color, gender and sexual orientation, with reference to family and regional origins, religious beliefs, social classes, habits and tastes, in terms of style. In short, human beings are different, belong to different groups, coexist and develop in different cultures. They are therefore different by right. It is called the right to difference; the right to be, being different.

_cc781905-5cde-3194 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_  The name of the Insólito project - Narratives about difference, refers us to someone or something “that does not present itself in a usual way; that is rare or uncommon; abnormal, which opposes the use of norms; that does not conform to the rules or tradition”, thus Insólito – narratives about difference, presents us with several narratives of figures who do not fit the established standards and who, or suffer retaliation by the great mass as in Os Dwarves, by Veronica Stigger, where a couple of dwarfs are massacred in a bakery for cutting in line, or they experience family dramas, as in Julia Lopes de Almeida's A Caolha, who is excluded by her son due to her disability, or they reflect on the importance of being unique, as in Claudio Galperin's Draguinho, a dragon that spits water and is banished from the city and realizes that the difference is everywhere.

_cc781905-5cde-3194 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_ Thus, in this project, we focus on these stories in an attempt to seek a reflection and, why not? – an identification by the participants, tracing a critical thought, relativizing the behaviors and rules that the great mass establishes as a standard. We talked about diversity, emphasizing with the participant the exercise of approaching what is foreign, what seems strange to him; to know instead of repelling, to add instead of dividing.
